.............. . . . to the Southern Highlands International Piano Competition (SHIPC), a biennial competition established in 2007 to provide an opportunity for pianists from Australia and worldwide to further their performance experience and associate with fellow musicians of first-class calibre.
In appreciation, a very special "thank-you" must go to outgoing Chairman, Malcolm Yell and outgoing Deputy Chairman, Terry Oakes-Ash for the outstanding job they have done in getting this wonderful competition off the ground and up to the level of success which it now enjoys. A big thank-you also to outgoing Secretary, Debbie Angus for the great work she has done over the past few years ...and, a warm welcome to Richard Griffin AM who has taken over the role of Chairman.
Due to the success of the first two competitions, 2011 will now see the introduction of four (4) Rounds giving further performance opportunities for competitors, and even more wonderful music for audiences to appreciate.
The number of competitors will be limited to 24 for the first stage of the competition. Twelve competitors will move forward to the second stage, six competitors will move forward to the third stage, and four will move forward to the Concerto Finals.
The third SHIPC will be held from October 1st to October 9th, 2011.
