SHIPC is open to pianists of any nationality, aged 18-34 inclusive at the time of the commencement of the competition. |

|
Entry to the SHIPC will not be open to previous First Prize winners of a SHIPC. |
|
•
|
A maximum of twenty four (24) pianists will be chosen to compete in the SHIPC by a Selection Committee on the basis of received Applications. |

| |
|
|
1.
|
a completed and signed Application Form including the applicant’s Repertoire and Curriculum Vitae; and... |
|
|
a DVD recording (the quality of the recording is important so that the quality of the applicant’s playing can be appropriately evaluated) certified by a current teacher that it is an unedited video recording of the applicant playing (no other works should be included on the DVD) comprising:
• one prelude by Debussy or one nocturne by Chopin; and...
• the first movement of a sonata by Haydn or Mozart or Beethoven; and...
• one etude by Chopin; and...
• one etude by Liszt or Rachmaninoff or Scriabin; and... |

a copy of document(s) certifying date and place of birth, nationality and residence of the applicant; and... |

4.
|
a separate CD consisting of the biography of the applicant in approximately 200 words in English prose and in Word document form, plus two photographs in JPG format which can be used by the organisers of SHIPC for publicity purposes. Present and past teachers are to be named; and in addition... |

5.
|
two printed (hard copies) high quality, black-and-white, untinted, head-and-shoulders photographs of the applicant at least 13cm x 18cm and no larger than 18cm x 22cm to be used by the organisers of SHIPC for publicity purposes. These photographs can also be submitted as JPG's on the biographical CD, along with the two printed photographs as above. |

Applications must be received at the SHIPC Office by 20th May 2011. All the above items, DVD's & CD's etc., must have affixed to them the applicant’s name, date of birth and the detailed content. The organisers of SHIPC do not assume responsibility for applications lost or delayed in the mail. |

Applicants should retain copies of all application items sent to the SHIPC Office. |
|
•
|
Application items will not be returned and remain the property of the organisers of SHIPC. |
|
•
|
Applicants who have been chosen to compete in the 2011 SHIPC will be notified by 1st June 2011. |
