Springett Foundation pledges $30,000 to piano competition
Ted Springett, on behalf of the Trustees of the Springett Family Foundation, will donate to the Southern Highlands International Piano competition (SHIPC) $15,000 prize money after June 30 this year and another $15,000 after June 30, 2009.
Well known for his family’s generous support of non-profit organisations in the Highlands, Ted is also a great lover of music, especially piano.
“I am very pleased to be able to support the Southern Highlands International Piano competition. It is a wonderful initiative not only for the Highlands but also for the fostering of talented young musicians,” said Ted.
Malcolm Yell, Chairman of SHIPC said that he and the Board were very appreciative of the Springett family's support.
“We are very grateful for the continued generous support the Springett Family Foundation provides the Competition, it is an integral part of the Competition's success,” said Malcolm
Malcolm added that the Board is about to run a campaign to renew and increase the memberships of its very successful Friends Programme.
“The SHIPC Friends membership fee is $20.00 per year or $35.00 for two years 2008/9. This entitles friends to ticket-discounts for the various activities planned. All contributions and donations to SHIPC are tax deductible,” said Malcolm
The Piano Competition Board will be hosting a series of concerts throughout the year in June, August and October, as well as a Christmas dinner dance in December.
